Conflict awareness - FC0087
This course is for Foster carers and Adopters.
Please note that the courses will be delivered virtually. Foster carers enrolling for these sessions will need their own laptop/PC or smart device to log on to the session.
Aims
To share simple and effective strategies for creating and maintaining safe working practices and environments for both foster carers and the children they care for. Introduce the Proactive Approach to Conflict and Non-Violent Response models.
Objectives
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Examine their perceptions regarding conflict.
- Focus on the fundamentals of good practice in relation to challenging behaviour.
- Apply the principles of the Non-Violent Response model (NVR)
- Defuse confrontation using verbal responses.
