Unavoidable school closures guidance for schools

Circumstances may arise when it may be necessary to temporarily close or partly close a school.  You can view a list of schools that we know to be closed today and the news of closures may be broadcast by your local radio station.

The unavoidable school closures guidance (PDF 2.62 MB) is to assist headteachers in identifying such situations and in taking follow up action. 

Following a decision to close, the form NUC/1 should be completed as a follow up action.  This can be via the Schools’ Portal (if you have appropriate access) or you can download the form to return by email or in hard format:
