Pupil Attitude Questionnaire
The new Pupil Attitude Questionnaire (PAQ) for Primary Schools
The new Pupil Attitude Questionnaire is offered at a considerably reduced rate from previous years and will now be available at any point during the academic year, which we hope will make it accessible to as many schools as possible.
Can be used in all year groups in KS2
Order Now >Many of you will be very familiar with the questionnaire and will have used the analyses provided to you on the ROSE website as part of your school’s self-evaluation. The PAQ has undergone a rewrite, with questions and reports structured under the following headings, which are in line with the new 2025 Education Inspection Framework:
• Safeguarding
• Curriculum and Teaching
• Attendance and Behaviour
• Personal Development and Wellbeing
Furthermore, we have developed an increased range of reports to assist you with your analysis of the outcomes. As this is a new questionnaire, there will be no historical data for the first year, however this will build up year on year.
New reports available to you this year, will include:
Instant Feedback
this will be available upon completion of the Pupil Attitude Questionnaire and on Lancashire ROSE.
Core Report
contains summary pages of the data collected over the year from both your school and other schools involved.
Narrative Self Evaluation Report
narrative descriptions related to relevant sections of the Education Inspection framework. You will be able to copy and paste the appropriate narrative bullet points into any reports. This will save you time when for example completing your own school self-evaluation and providing information for stakeholders such as governors.
Half Termly Reports
this will include your data and comparative data with other schools that have undertaken the questionnaire. These reports will be available half termly with up-to-date information.
The final analysis is made up of the following reports and will be produced during the summer holidays.
All Charts
individual question detail by year group, gender, prior ability, authority and questionnaire comparative data. This for many schools allows them to put their own pupils’ views in perspective and enables them to draw out differences which are useful in informing the bigger picture in school. Responses have been colour coded to aid interpretation. Charts can be copied and pasted into other documents within school, if required. Schools also receive suggestions for using the feedback reports in their Self Evaluation, related to the key areas.
All Tables
individual question detail by year group, gender, prior ability, authority and questionnaire comparative data by all possible outcomes.
Schools have the option to administer the online questionnaire at any point during the academic year.
When carrying out the online questionnaire, schools will:
- receive individual pupil identity passwords on the Lancashire ROSE website, to enable distribution to pupils so that they can access their questionnaire. The passwords enable us to analyse by sex. You will also be provided with instructions on administering the questionnaire with pupils.
- receive instant feedback online (on the Lancashire ROSE website) when the pupils have completed the questionnaire online; this takes the form of percentage for each question, for each year group.
- receive your "PAQ Narrative Self Evaluation Report" and full report during the summer holiday, via the Lancashire ROSE website.
