- To explore powerful knowledge in subjects and how that runs through the phases including key stage three and four so that teachers become more familiar with prior learning and existing schema
- To investigate the use of a variety of whole class formative assessment strategies that will help to diagnose fluency and mastery in learning and therefore expose any gaps or misconceptions in that learning
- To provide teachers with a selection of practical strategies to use in the classroom that will enable the successful identification of gaps in knowledge
This course is aimed at schools and staff who wish to improve their assessment of student progress, specifically in diagnosing the fluency and mastery of prior learning and the progress in current learning.
Delegates will look at features of effective assessment, both summative and formative that allow for identification of gaps and misconceptions.
Delegates will also get a chance to explore the potential next steps and impact of short and medium planning that effective assessment promotes
