This course is for qualified swimming teachers and pool providers only - Not school staff.

Course Aims:
- Identify barriers to participation for pupils with SEND
- Describe ways to adapt swimming lessons
- Identify good practice in health and safety
- Use effective communication methods and resources for pupils with SEND, to help to introduce swimming strokes/other aquatic skills

This course will be delivered by Lorna Goldie from Swim England. PE TLCs from Lancashire County Council will also be in attendance.

This CPD is aimed at swimming teachers, assistant swimming teachers, swimming coaches, pool operators and aquatics co-ordinators who deliver school swimming lessons and/or water safety programmes with SEND pupils.
You will need to bring with you on the day:
- Pen & Paper
- Wear comfortable clothing
- Swimming Kit, you may wish to wear clean shorts and T-shirt/leggings over your swimming kit if you prefer (If you are unable to take part in the water-based session please let me know before the date of the course so that this can be communicated with the course tutor)
- Lockers at the leisure centre/school pool are available and operate using a £1

Please note that lunch will not be provided for this course.
