Course Aims:
• Explore a range of practical ideas and activities suitable for EYFS outdoor environments.
• Experience enjoyable trust, trail and challenge activities with clear learning outcomes.
• Understand the benefits of learning beyond the classroom for young children.
• Explore how outdoor tasks develop creativity, critical thinking and problem solving.
• Gain awareness of risk management and safe practice in outdoor learning spaces

This hands-on, outdoor-focused course enables Early Years practitioners to explore how outdoor learning can enrich the EYFS curriculum and support engaging, meaningful experiences for young children. Delegates will discover how trust activities, simple trails and age appropriate physical challenges can be used to develop children’s independence, confidence and problem solving skills.

The course links directly to Development Matters and Birth to 5 Matters, helping practitioners understand how outdoor learning opportunities can strengthen the Characteristics of Effective Learning and key areas of development.

As this is a practical course, participants should dress appropriately for working outdoors and wear sensible footwear.
