• Develop confidence in delivering and assessing high quality PE at Key Stage 2.
• Teach the key skills and progressions required in Games, Gymnastics, Dance and Outdoor and Adventurous Activities.
• Adapt Lancashire planning to meet the diverse needs of all KS2 children.
• Understand sequences of learning and assess pupils effectively using Lancashire core tasks.
• Practically explore and deliver units of work in Games, OAA, Dance and Gymnastics.
• Apply adaptive teaching strategies and inclusive approaches across activity areas.
This practical course is designed for ECTs and class teachers who are new to teaching PE at Key Stage 2. Throughout the day, participants will develop confidence and subject knowledge by exploring how to teach key skills and progressions in Games, Gymnastics, Dance and OAA. The course examines effective planning, sequencing learning, and assessing both basic and sport specific skills through Lancashire core tasks. Teachers will also explore adaptive teaching strategies, inclusion, and approaches to meeting the needs of all learners.
There is a practical element, so please dress appropriately.
