Course Aims:
- To deepen understanding of the complex barriers experienced by disadvantaged pupils and how these affect mathematical learning, confidence and progress
- To explore practical, evidence informed strategies for increasing motivation, resilience and engagement in the maths classroom
- To equip teachers with high impact, culturally responsive and inclusive teaching approaches that meet the diverse needs of disadvantaged learners
- To develop effective classroom adaptations—such as bar modelling, Focus Five and structured routines—that strengthen conceptual understanding and close gaps
- To provide time for professional dialogue, reflection and sharing of approaches that improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in maths
