Course Aims:
- To increase knowledge of, and build confidence with, mathematical vocabulary, notation and conventions.
- To consider common misconceptions, how to identify them and how to avoid them.
- To develop understanding of, and confidence with, use of the bar model to make mathematical connections and deepen student understanding.

This course is suitable for non-specialist teachers who have recently started to teach some mathematics. More experienced non-specialists wishing to further develop their subject knowledge might find 'Subject Knowledge Enhancement for Non-Specialist Teachers of Secondary Mathematics' (NUM235) more suitable.
