• To explore how to build oracy into the daily mathematics lesson.

“Oracy is the ability to articulate ideas, develop understanding and engage with others through speaking, listening and communication.” Oracy Education Commission (2024). In mathematics, the ability to talk is intrinsically linked with the development of understanding and the ability to think, reason and solve problems. This course will support teachers in creating talk rich maths lessons to support with deepening children’s understanding and helping them grow in confidence.
