Course Aims
This new course is designed for teachers in Year 1 to Year 6 or English Subject Leaders in order to examine how to plan a unit of work in English.
The course will include:
• Principles of planning a unit of work for English
• Considering the process of planning using the teaching sequence for reading, writing, spoken language (oracy) and explicit teaching of key skills
• How to integrate modelled and independent outcomes for reading and writing
• Support materials which can be utilised in school to support colleagues

The approaches for planning an English Unit can also be delivered in school via twilights for staff teams, or bespoke one-to-one planning support sessions for teachers.
