  • Steven Kenyon* (Teaching and Learning Consultant - Primary History)

This full-day course will aim to:

• examine the grammar requirements in Y5 and Y6;
• explore a model to teach sentence construction which can be implemented within a teaching sequence for English;
• equip participants with a range of practical and engaging strategies to address word level grammar and punctuation;
• consider the ‘bigger picture’ whereby grammar helps the learner to improve their writing.

A truly valuable informative and engaging course - I have learnt so much!

I moved from Reception to Y6 and this course was brilliant to help me understand how to teach grammar in my class.
(Feedback from delegates 2024).

There were lots of ideas about how to deliver and improve grammar lessons for children. I found it really useful and have taken away lots of ideas I would like to implement in my own teaching.
