This course will explore:
- how to support children effectively when developing decoding, fluency and comprehension skills, particularly the lowest 20%
- top tips for ensuring children are engaged and motivated with reading
- practical approaches for delivering one to one sessions

This course will provide an overview of how to deliver and support one to one reading sessions for early readers and developing readers in primary schools (Y1-Y6) . It is suitable for any adults who support children's reading in school, e.g. teaching assistants, teachers, volunteers

Participants will receive a download toolkit of practical materials as part of the course.

I feel much more confident to deliver reading sessions following this course. I support children from Y1 to Y4. Demonstrating the sessions as though it was in real life was so useful by Louise! (Delegate 2024)
