  • Catharine Cummins (Teaching and Learning Consultant - Early Years)

Are you confident that your EYFS children are on track? Do you need to raise GLD standards?

Join us for a half day practical and reflective session designed to deepen your understanding of child development and progress in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

This course will help staff to:
• Understand key updates and developments in Early Years practice.
• Identify gaps in learning and development with clarity and confidence
• Articulate meaningful next steps for each child’s learning journey
• Understand the vital role of the adult in shaping purposeful, high-quality provision
• Strengthen professional dialogue around progress and planning
We will focus on two key areas in EYFS that were identified as weaker from Lancashire data in 2025:
• Managing Self
• Writing

There will be the opportunity to share current outcomes and discuss and share ideas for quality provision.

We ask that each participant brings along with them evidence for two children in their class. One who is aiming for GLD but may not currently be on track and one that is securely on track. The evidence could be for one child at each standard, or it may be from two or three different children. The practitioner attending the course can decide and the form the that the evidence takes. There is no need to produce anything for the course, everyday classroom evidence is all that is required.
Perfect for EYFS practitioners, leaders, and support staff looking to refine their practice and ensure every child thrives.
