- To receive key messages regarding STA moderation training.
- To explore key features of each standard of writing at end of Key Stage 2.
- To work through the training materials produced for moderators to deepen understanding of the standards.

This full day course provides an invaluable opportunity to develop a deeper and more secure understanding of the training materials produced by the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) to support local authority moderators in preparing for their role. The session ensures that delegates receive the same key messages and guidance that moderators themselves are given, creating consistency and confidence in the application of national standards.

Throughout the day, we will explore the key aspects of assessing writing at Working Towards the Expected Standard (WTS), Working at the Expected Standard (EXS), and Greater Depth Standard (GDS), alongside important updates and reminders relating to the Pre Key Stage standards. Participants will be provided with the full suite of STA training materials, which they will also take back to school to support the development of writing assessment across their teams.

This course is ideal for anyone who wants to strengthen their knowledge of the end of KS2 standards and deepen their understanding of the STA teacher assessment frameworks, including Year 6 teachers, assessment leads, and subject leaders.
