Course code Keystages Presented by
SCI238 KS3; KS4
  • Andy Pearson (Secondary Science Consultant)

Course aims:
- To explore the pedagogical challenges and solutions for classes containing Foundation Tier and Higher Tier students, studying separate sciences
- To investigate effective whole class assessment that allows for checking for understanding when co-teaching the two tiers of separate science
- To exemplify adaptive teaching strategies that encourage science teachers to be inclusive of all learners studying foundation and higher tier separate science

This course is directed at science teachers who deliver foundation tier and higher tier separate sciences in the same classroom environment. Whilst recognising the differences in volume of content we will also explore the pedagogical approaches when delivering to mixed prior attainment students.
