This practical and supportive course is designed for teachers who are new to, or less confident in, delivering dance and gymnastics as part of the primary PE curriculum. Throughout the day, teachers will explore how to plan, teach and assess engaging units of work using the Lancashire PE Passport Scheme of Work, Lancashire Core Tasks and high quality supporting resources.
Participants will learn how to deliver creative dance, develop cross curricular links, teach key gymnastic skills and use apparatus safely and effectively. The course also covers essential health & safety and risk management principles to ensure safe, enjoyable and progressive learning for all children.
This course includes a set of TOPs Dance and TOPs Gymnastics cards. Practical activities are included, so teachers should dress appropriately for movement.
