• Explore the Lancashire Early Years Scheme of Work units designed for Nursery and Reception classes.
• Develop observation skills using the Lancashire 5 Fundamental Movement Skills for Under 5s teacher resource booklet.
• Gain a secure understanding of how to deliver Dance in the Early Years, using developmentally appropriate strategies and creative approaches.
• Explore Physical Development units linked to popular EYFS story books and themes.
• Develop confidence in adapting lesson progressions to meet the diverse learning needs of children within EYFS settings.

This practical one day course will explore the Lancashire Early Years Scheme of Work and provide delegates with strategies to enhance physical activity, physical development, and dance within the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Participants will examine a range of Physical Development units linked to well loved EYFS stories and themes such as The Hungry Caterpillar, Transport, Rumble in the Jungle, Seaside, Superworm and more. The course also introduces delegates to the new Pippa and Eddie units and demonstrates how these can be planned and delivered effectively.
The training will support teachers and practitioners in understanding and using developmentally appropriate lesson progressions, with guidance on how to adapt activities to meet the unique needs of their children. It will also strengthen participants’ ability to observe Physical Development confidently and deliver high quality, engaging lessons.
All delegates will receive a copy of the Lancashire 5 Fundamental Movement Skills for Under 5’s teacher booklet.
Please note: This course includes a practical element, so participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for movement.
