• Know how to teach a range of basic gymnastic skills safely and effectively.

This practical and supportive course is ideal for teachers who feel less confident teaching gymnastics than other areas of the PE curriculum. Through guided exploration and hands-on practice, teachers will deepen their understanding of how to plan, deliver and assess effective gymnastics lessons using both the Lancashire PE Passport Scheme of Work and the Max Whitlock Gymnastics scheme.

Participants will explore key gymnastic skills, progressions and safe use of apparatus, while gaining clarity on how children develop and make progress in both floor and apparatus work. Health & safety, risk management and creating a purposeful learning environment are woven throughout.

This course includes a set of TOPs Gymnastic cards. Practical elements are included, so teachers should dress appropriately for movement..
