Course Aims
• This course examines the new Strong foundations in the first years of school publication for Reception and
Key Stage 1.
• Help staff to give children the best chance of educational success and how schools secure the foundational
knowledge and skills that every child needs by the end of Key Stage 1.
• Making sure that all children have the best start in life exploring the curriculum, appropriate pedagogy,
assessment, personal development, behaviour and attitudes.
• Chance to reflect on your setting and plan next steps.

This course is suitable for Nursery, Reception, and Year 1 Staff.
