- understanding of skill development and how this works in continuous provision;
- identifying a child's stage of development and planning next steps;
- effective provision planning and organisation;
- the role of the adult;
- links to the EEF approaches and practices to support communication and language;
- links to all areas of learning and development and characteristics of effective learning (EYFS);
- links to relevant national Curriculum subjects and learning behaviours for year 1(KS1); and
- effective Transition.
