A major programme of refurbishment work is set to begin at Rawtenstall Library to help ensure the historic building remains safe and accessible for the future.
The first phase is due to begin this week. During this period, the main lending library on the ground floor will remain open, although some areas, including the community history service, will be temporarily unavailable.
The second phase is expected to begin in July and will involve significant work to the ground floor and, due to the scale and specialist nature of the work, the library will need to close completely for up to 14 weeks while this phase is carried out.
We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause.
