If you're ready to take the first step to improving your health, we can help. A healthy diet and regular physical activity are essential for your health and can help prevent heart disease, some cancers and diabetes. It can also help you to stay active day to day, sleep better and improve your wellbeing.
Maintaining a healthy weight can help reduce the risk of developing heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
It will also:
- lower your cholesterol
- lower your blood pressure
- reduce stress on your joints
- improve your breathing
- reduce fatigue
- help you sleep better
Healthy adults programmes
We run free programmes in local venues across the county for people over 18 with a body mass index (BMI) over 30 (adjusted to 27.5 depending on ethnicity). Calculate your BMI.
Typically, each programme runs for up to 12 weeks with sessions lasting approximately 90 minutes. You will be offered weekly support to learn how to manage your weight.

Healthy families programmes
For families with at least one child between the ages of 5 and 10. Siblings may attend if one child is within the specified age ranges.
Programmes are delivered across Lancashire. Families will be referred into the programme by the school their children attend. You can find out more using the contact details below each course.
