If you want to comment on a planning application, you can do so in writing or by email.

You can also make a representation online by clicking on the 'comment on this application' link once you have viewed the application details in our online planning register.

What happens after you send your comments

  • You will get an acknowledgement if you send your comments by email or through our website.

  • Your comments will not be shown online.

  • We do not usually reply to comments or let you know the decision.

  • The decision will be on our website within five working days after it is made.

  • All comments will be considered before a decision is made. They will be summarised in the report for the Development Control Committee.

Speaking at the development control committee

If you want to speak at a committee meeting, please fill in the request to speak form.

  • Register as soon as possible, and no later than 12 noon, three clear working days before the meeting.

  • For major applications, different timescales may apply.
