This module provides an opportunity to reflect on how the setting builds relationships which support children’s feelings of security and nurture their well-being and sense of belonging, thus having a positive impact on children’s learning and development.

Settling in and transition processes will be evaluated along with practices and processes for sharing information about the child.

Consideration is given to a set of module standards and how to further improve and develop practice in these areas:

1. The setting has an inclusive admissions policy

2. The setting welcomes and establishes good relationships with parents and children

3. The setting has good settling in and transition procedures

4. The setting networks with other providers and the wider community

5. The routines of the setting are flexible to meet the needs of individual children

6. A keyperson’s knowledge ensures that routines are utilised to embed learning opportunities for individual children

7. High levels of wellbeing are promoted through secure attachments with the keyperson

8. The setting has a strong commitment to working in partnership with parents
