Lancashire Quality Award – Early Writing
This is a new and exciting programme planned for summer 2021. This award explores strategies to engage in mark making and how the adult role motivates and scaffolds children to begin to communicate their ideas as part of their role play.
The programme will consider how children are encouraged to write across a range of different spaces within the environment and how we can motivate children to write outdoors.
Suggestions for fine motor control at different stages of development will be shared with practical ideas to implement in the setting.
In order to be considered for the award at least one member of the EYFS team must attend each of the following essential training courses to support self-reflection of this module prior to submission:
- Inspiring Mark Making Through Play
- Supporting Boys Writing in the Early Years
- Exploring Writing in the Outdoors
