Ribble Valley

Longridge town centre bus stops

Location: Certain bus stops on Berry Lane, King Street, Derby Road, Kestor Lane, Preston Road, Calder Avenue, Inglewhite Road and Chipping Lane in Longridge

Proposals: We are upgrading bus stops and infrastructure to complement local bus network enhancements.  The bus stop improvements include reviewing locations, making bus stops accessible for all with raised kerbs, boarding points, better shelters (where applicable) and bus stop boxes and restrictions to protect the bus stops from parked cars.

Progress: Local engagement took place in July 2022. We advertised Traffic Regulation Orders in May / June 2023 and carried out some of the works out on site in December 2023.

Lancashire County Council's Cabinet approved proposals for bus stops that had received objections on the 18 January 2024 and these improvements are programmed for delivery from February / March 2024 to July/ August 2024.

Find out more: Formal advertising of the Traffic Regulation Orders has ended but they are still available to view on the Lancashire County council  proposed traffic regulation orders  webpage under the scheme titled (Berry Lane, Derby Road, Kestor Lane, Market Place and Preston Road, Longridge, Ribble Valley Borough) (Revocation, Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Limited Waiting) Order 202* LSG4/894.16755/AF.
