Bus Service Enhancements BSIP1

Service: 2 (Chorley and Blackburn)

Route: Chorley – Brinscall – Abbey Village – Blackburn

Proposal: Lancashire County Council, in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and Chorley Borough Council, have revised the route and timetable of the Monday to Saturday evening and Sunday daytime service, extending to operate hourly throughout the whole route between Chorley and Blackburn.

The route on all journeys between Feniscowles and Blackburn were revised to operate via Livesey Branch Road and Ewood. Stagecoach continued to operate these journeys on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

Route: Overton – Heysham – Morecambe – Carnforth

Proposal: Lancashire County Council, in partnership with Stagecoach, have revised the timetable to introduce an hourly Monday to Saturday evening service throughout the whole route.

Service: 22 (Ribble Valley and Blackburn)

Route: Clitheroe – Blackburn – Royal Blackburn Hospital – Shadsworth

Proposal: Lancashire County Council, in partnership with The Blackburn Bus Company, have revised the timetable to introduce an hourly Monday to Saturday evening service throughout the whole route. Additional Sunday daytime journeys from Blackburn to Shadsworth and Clitheroe were also introduced extending operation through to approximately 1830.

Route: Lancaster – Garstang – Poulton-le-Fylde – Blackpool

Proposal: Lancashire County Council, in partnership with Stagecoach, have revised the timetable to introduce a Monday to Saturday evening service throughout the whole route.

Service: 119 (Chorley)

Route: Chorley – Astley Village – Chorley

Proposal: Lancashire County Council, in partnership with Chorley Borough Council, have revised the route and timetable of the Monday to Saturday evening and Sunday daytime service to operate hourly.

Stagecoach continue to operate these journeys on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

Service: 319 (West Lancashire)

Route: Skelmersdale – Kirkby Trainlink

Proposal: Lancashire County Council have introduced this new daily express service between Skelmersdale and Kirkby Railway Station/Town Centre to link into Liverpool and the wider Merseyside transport network. This new service operated up to every 30 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime and every hour Monday to Saturday evening and Sunday daytime.

Stagecoach operate this new service in partnership with Lancashire County Council.

Service: 42 (Lancaster, Fylde and Wyre)

Route: Lancaster – Garstang – Poulton-le-Fylde – Blackpool

Proposal: Lancashire County Council, in partnership with Stagecoach, have enhanced the Sunday daytime frequency to operate every hour. In conjunction with Services 40/41 there is an increased frequency between Lancaster and Garstang operating up to every 30 minutes on a Sunday.

Service: 310 (West Lancashire)

Route: Skelmersdale – Ormskirk – Maghull – Liverpool

Proposal: Lancashire County Council, in partnership with Arriva, have revised the timetable to extend the Monday to Saturday Evening and Sunday daytime service beyond Maghull throughout the whole route to Ormskirk and Skelmersdale. These new Monday to Saturday Evening and Sunday daytime service journey extensions operate every hour.

Service: 313 (West Lancashire)

Route: Skelmersdale – Birch Green – Ashurst (Circular)

Proposal: Lancashire County Council, in partnership with Arriva, have introduced a new Monday to Saturday Evening and Sunday daytime service on the route between Skelmersdale, Birch Green and Ashurst. These new Monday to Saturday Evening and Sunday daytime service journey extensions operate every hour.

Service: 88/89 (Lancaster and Wyre)

Route: Lancaster – Glasson – Garstang – Pilling – Knott End

Proposal: Lancashire County Council have revised the route and timetable to introduce additional new public transport links in South Lancaster and Over Wyre. New Service 88 has been introduced between Lancaster and Knott End via Garstang, to operate in conjunction with existing Service 89 between Lancaster and Knott End, enhancing the overall service frequency across much of the route. The services operate between Lancaster and Knott End via Glasson Dock, Cockerham, Garstang (88), Nateby (88), Pilling and Preesall.

The combined Monday to Saturday service frequency operate approximately hourly across the end-to-end route, with the unique sections approximately two-hourly. A new Sunday and Bank Holiday two hourly daytime service has also been introduced.

Certain new Service 88 journeys additionally serve Garstang Academy on schooldays, replacing School Service 813 and partially replacing School Service 509 to improve sustainability by incorporating those duplicated sections of route.

Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire continue to operate these services on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

Service: 15 (Hyndburn and Ribble Valley)

Route: Accrington – Great Harwood – Whalley – Clitheroe

Proposal: Lancashire County Council have revised the route and timetable, adjusting the service to operate between Accrington and Clitheroe and increase the frequency of the Monday to Saturday service. The section of route between Accrington and Royal Blackburn Hospital operates as an extension of Stagecoach's Service 59. The service operates between Accrington and Clitheroe via Clayton-le-Moors, Rishton, Great Harwood, Whalley and Barrow Brook.

The Monday to Saturday daytime service frequency has been increased from every 90 minutes to operate approximately every hour. Through travel and ticketing across Accrington Town Centre with Service 59, to/from Royal Blackburn Hospital, continues to be available.

Holmeswood Coaches Ltd continue to operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

Route: Preston – Blackburn – Royal Blackburn Hospital – Accrington

Proposal: Stagecoach, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, have revised the route and timetable to extend regular journeys through to Accrington. The Monday to Saturday daytime service frequency has been increased from every 90 minutes to operate approximately every hour. A new Sunday and Bank Holiday hourly daytime service has also been introduced.

Through travel and ticketing across Accrington Town Centre with Service 15, to/from Clitheroe, continues to be available.

Route: Burnley Local Services

Proposal: Burnley Bus Company, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, have introduced a number of daily evening enhancements to their services. The timetables on these routes have been revised to introduce a number of new later evening journeys operating until around 11pm Mon-Sat and 9pm Sunday.

Route: Preston – Savick – Lea

Proposal: Preston Bus Ltd, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, have restored an hourly Monday to Saturday evening service.

Service: 45 (Preston and Ribble Valley)

Route: Preston – Broughton – Longridge – Ribchester – Blackburn

Proposal: Lancashire County Council have enhanced the service with the introduction of the following additional early morning and later evening journeys:
0515 Monday to Friday journey from Preston through Longridge to Blackburn;
0601 Monday to Friday journey from Longridge to Preston;
2120 Monday to Saturday journey from Preston to Longridge;
2205 Monday to Saturday journey from Longridge to Preston;
2250 Monday to Saturday journey from Preston to Longridge.

Preston Bus Ltd continue to operate this service on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

Service: 311/312 (West Lancashire)

Route: Ormskirk – Skelmersdale – Wrightington Hospital / Rainford

Proposal: Lancashire County Council have introduced two new bus routes, amalgamating, and replacing previous Services 312 and 313, to enhance service provision and created new public transport links within West Lancashire. New Services 311 and 312 have been introduced between Ormskirk and Skelmersdale, extending through to Wrightington and Rainford, as follows:

Service 311 operates a more direct link between Ormskirk and Wrightington Hospital via Ormskirk Hospital, Lathom, Ashurst, Birch Green, Skelmersdale, Tanhouse, Upholland and Appley Bridge.

Service 312 operates between Ormskirk and Rainford via Burscough, Newburgh, Parbold, Ashurst, Birch Green, Skelmersdale, Upholland and Crawford.

Both routes operate generally every hour during Monday to Saturday daytime across the routes and combined maintain the half hourly frequency through Ashurst and Birch Green.

New Service 312 also serves Rainford High Academy, replacing our dedicated School Service 730 with a regular service, which improves sustainability of the new routes by incorporating the duplicated sections.

Preston Bus Ltd operate these services on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

Route: Burnley – Padiham – Whalley – Clitheroe

Proposal: Burnley Bus Company, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, have introduced a number of daily evening enhancements to their services. The following new Monday to Saturday evening journey has been introduced:

2258 M2 Burnley and Clitheroe.

Route: Burnley – Nelson – Colne – Barnoldswick – Skipton

Proposal: Burnley Bus Company, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, have introduced a number of daily evening enhancements to their services. The following new Monday to Saturday evening journey have been introduced:
1945 M6 Burnley to Skipton
2055 M6 Skipton to Burnley
2330 M6 Burnley to Colne.

Service: X43 (Burnley and Rossendale)

Route: Burnley – Rawtenstall – Manchester

Proposal: Burnley Bus Company, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, have introduced a number of daily evening enhancements to their services. The following new Monday to Thursday evening journey has been introduced:

2240 X43 Burnley to Rawtenstall. This compliments the Friday and Saturday journey already operating.

Service: 5/5A (Fylde and Wyre)

Route: Poulton / Staining – Victoria Hospital – Blackpool – Halfway House

Proposal: Blackpool Transport have replaced Blackpool – Victoria Hospital – Poulton service 2 and Blackpool – Victoria Hospital – Staining service 15 with extensions to existing Halfway House – Blackpool – Victoria Hospital service 5 creating cross-Blackpool links. Utilising funding from HM Government through the Bus Service Improvement Plan Plus Scheme, and in partnership with Lancashire County Council ensures that the previous frequency to Poulton and Staining remains.

Service: 6/7 (Hyndburn)

Route: Blackburn – Great Harwood – Accrington – Oswaldtwistle – Blackburn

Proposal: The Blackburn Bus Company, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, have introduced a number of daily evening enhancements, extending service operation until around 11pm Monday to Saturday and 10pm Sunday throughout the whole route.

Service: 6B/6C (Lancaster)

Route: Morecambe – Westgate – Bare - Morecambe

Proposal: Stagecoach, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, have introduced new Services 6B/6C merging certain Service 6 journeys and Service 33 to offer a Morecambe area circular service.

Service 6B operates anti-clockwise from Morecambe and Westgate, extending through Branksome to cover the Service 33 route through Bare back to Morecambe.

Service 6C operates the same route but in clockwise direction from Morecambe, serving Bare before continuing to Branksome and Westgate back to Morecambe.

New Services 6B/6C each run generally every hour Monday to Saturday, offering more journeys for Bare as well as linking to those shopping and leisure opportunities off Westgate.

Service: 2A (Preston, South Ribble and West Lancashire)

Route: Preston – Longton – Tarleton – Ormskirk

Proposal: Stagecoach, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, have restored a regular Monday to Saturday evening service. These new Monday to Saturday evening return journeys from Preston to Ormskirk depart at 1820, 1910, 2010, 2110 and 2230 and returning from Ormskirk at 1932, 2017, 2117 and 2227. These new journeys have been coordinated with Service 2 between Preston and Tarleton.

Service: 61 (Preston and Fylde)

Route: Preston – Kirkham – Blackpool

Proposal: Stagecoach, in partnership with Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Council, have revised the timetable enhancing overall service provision. Restoring the Monday to Saturday daytime frequency back up to every 30 minutes, along with the introduction of additional later evening journeys.

Service: 127 (Chorley)

Route: Chorley Hospital – Astley Village – Chorley – Adlington – Middlebrook Retail Park

Proposal: Stagecoach, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, have revised the route and timetable extending the service through Astley Village to Chorley Hospital, replacing service 119. The extended service provides a direct link from Adlington and Lower Adlington to Chorley Hospital, together with maintaining a service through Astley Village.

Additional journeys have been provided, with the service operating generally hourly throughout Monday to Saturday daytime. The Monday to Saturday evening and Sunday short journeys between Chorley and Astley Village continue to operate and have been renumbered Service 127 instead of Service 119.

Route: Fleetwood – Cleveleys – Poulton-le-Fylde – Victoria Hospital – Blackpool

Proposal: Transpora North West, in partnership with Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Council, will revise the timetable enhancing overall service provision. The Monday to Saturday daytime frequency will be increased to every 30 minutes throughout the route and additional early evening journeys will be introduced.
