Travel assistance grant values 2025/6

Band	Value
Band 1 – Up to 5 miles	£2365 per school year
Band 2 – Over 5 miles up to 10 miles	£3553 per school year
Band 3 – Over 10 up to 15 miles	£4741 per school year
Band 4 – Over 15 up to 20	£5929 per school year
Band 5 – Over 20 up to 25	£7106 per school year
Band 6 – Over 25 miles	£0.52 per mile to and from the school and based on a standard return trip.

All the above are based on 190 days travelling and would be pro rata for fewer journeys, for example part time, weekly or termly residential students.

Grants are paid over 11 months (September to July, no payment in August).
