Emergency plans

The county council produces guidance and plans to ensure we are prepared to respond to emergencies. These plans are:

• Animal diseases

• Chemical incidents (Operation Merlin)

• Coastal and maritime incidents

• COMAH Sites (Control of Major Accident Hazard Regulations)

• Flooding

• Fuel shortage

• Nuclear (Radiation Emergency Preparedness and Public Information Regulations -REPPIR)

• Public Information Before, During, After a Nuclear Emergency

• Pipelines (Major Accident Hazard Pipelines – MAHP) 

• Pandemic influenza

• Reservoirs

• Severe weather

The following plans and/or guidance can also be called upon to deal with the consequences of any of the above emergencies.

• Emergency centre plans (Family and Friends Centre, Survivor Reception Centre and Humanitarian Assistance Centre)
