The County Council is the Strategic Commissioner of Education Provision in Lancashire. The school place provision strategy sets out how we will carry out our responsibility for ensuring there are the right number of school places, in the right areas, at the right time to meet demand.

The School Planning Team delivers the school place provision strategy on behalf of the County Council. Where appropriate, a review of school place provision will happen in key areas, and the current projects in progress or recently completed are detailed below.

The School Planning Team produce a data dashboard that provides insight into the pupil projections used for planning the provision of school places in Lancashire. The dashboard should be considered alongside the school place provision strategy.

The School Planning Team can be contacted via schoolplanning@lancashire.gov.uk
