Full council met Thursday 20 November where key decisions were made, and important issues were discussed, including:
Local Government Reorganisation - Full Council agreed to recommend that Cabinet approve the proposal for two unitary councils for Lancashire at its meeting on 27 November 2025. You can read more about Local Government Reorganisation here.
We're pleased to confirm that Helen Coombes has been appointed as Executive Director for Adults, Health and Wellbeing.
This appointment gives us the stability we need to keep driving our improvement plan and to prepare effectively for the possibility of local government reorganisation.
Helen brings fantastic experience in leadership, operational excellence and financial sustainability across the public sector.
White Ribbon campaign: We Speak Up
We are once again supporting the international White Ribbon campaign to end male violence against women and girls.
Running from 25 November to 10 December, this year’s theme is We Speak Up.
It calls on men and boys to challenge sexism and harmful behaviours that lead to violence against women and girls.
Reminder to add councillor meetings and events to the calendar of meetings
To avoid scheduling conflicts and improve transparency, you must add any meeting or event involving three or more county councillors to the council’s Calendar of Meetings.
This includes formal and informal meetings such as briefings, site visits and community events.
Adding these to the calendar helps councillors manage their commitments and gives visibility to other teams arranging meetings.
