Manager's resources

How managers should use these resources

Share the key messages with your team

Use the resources provided to update your staff on what LGR is, what we know so far, and what it may mean for them. You can share it during team meetings, huddles, 1:1s, or in your usual communication channels.

Keep the message consistent

Please stick to the information in this note. It’s important that all staff receive the same accurate and up-to-date messages, so we avoid confusion or mixed information.

Acknowledge uncertainty

Be honest that we don’t have all the answers yet. It’s fine to say when information isn’t available, your openness helps staff feel reassured and included.

Encourage questions

Invite staff to share any questions or concerns. You don’t need to have all the answers. If questions come up that you can’t answer, collect them and pass them on through your usual management channels so they can be included in future updates. Alternatively, you can email lgrquestions@lancashire.gov.uk.

Signpost staff to further information

Remind teams where they can find the latest updates, FAQs, and resources on the intranet. Encourage them to read the materials and stay informed.

Share updates promptly

Whenever new information or updated guidance is provided; please make sure you pass it on to your teams as soon as possible.

Reassure your team

Change can feel unsettling. Use this note to help staff understand what is happening, what it means for them right now and where to go for support.

Videos

These videos (on YouTube) can be shared with your staff. They explain the upcoming Local Government Reorganisation in Lancashire — what’s changing, what it means for our staff, and what to expect over the coming years.

Staff briefing sessions

You can also direct staff to the Staff briefing sessions where they can watch the presentation and the Q&A discussion.
