Support and Guidance
Work related stress can have a long term impact on employees. Although councillors aren't employees, they are often exposed to stressful situations. It is perfectly normal to feel stressed, worried or overwhelmed from time to time. Stresses at home can filter into work and vice versa. Pro-active wellbeing is about looking out for signs of stress in yourself, your fellow councillors, and your family so you can reach out for support or offer support, at an early stage to prevent you and others from becoming unwell.
It is really important to us that we support councillors to stay well and make sure they know where to access support if they need it. We have dedicated C-First health and wellbeing pages and circulate fortnightly ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ messages to include signposting and resources on a wide range of topics, along with access to Lancashire Adult Learning on-line and in-person wellbeing courses.
