Lateral Flow Device (LFD) - Testing portal guidance

Test operative

The role of a Test Operative is to log the daily LFD test results online using the barcodes for that chosen LFD. A Test Operative can be assigned against different Site ID's but only when approved by that chosen Team Leader.

The Testing Operative can use the same URL as the Team Leader and follow these next steps:
https://log-coronavirus-test-site-results.service.gov.uk/

  • Click on the 'I'm a Testing Operative' link and you will be presented with a login screen. You will need to create yourself an account. To do this, select the option at the bottom of the login screen which says 'Need an account? Sign Up'
  • You will now be presented with a screen to enter, Username (You enter the username you want to use. If already in use by someone else you will get a warning message), Name and Password (If you are a Team Leader and Testing Operative then you can use the same password for both accounts).
  • When logged in you will be asked for a Site ID and you will need to enter the 4 character Site ID for the site you are logging the results for. If it's the first time going into the Site ID then you will need the Team Leader to approve you against that chosen site. Please let the Team Leader know you have requested access.
  • Once access is approved you can log into your Test Operative account.  When you select the relevant Site ID you will see that you now show as 'Approved' for that site. You will now see an option to  'Log test results'.
  • When you click on Log test results you will be taken to the page where you can scan the LFD test barcode or manually enter the barcode. Our preference is that you scan the barcode and only when that doesn't work should you enter the code manually.  This is to reduce error and to ensure that people receive the correct result as soon as possible. Once scanned you will be presented with three options – Negative, Void or Positive (Selecting Positive will present a guidance note, as a double check, to ensure that the test is definitely Positive before proceeding). Just mark the result of the test and click continue to register the result for that barcode.
  • You will be presented with a summary of the information you have entered (Barcode and Test result) and if this is correct then click on Save and Continue. You are then shown confirmation that the test result has been logged and you have the option to Enter Another Result or Exit.
  • Follow the same cycle for each test and once finished you can exit.

If you have any questions or issues while using the site then please e-mail the Masstestingservice@lancashire.gov.uk mailbox for assistance.
