Copy marriage certificates

The certificates we issue are a certified and complete copy of the original entry of the record of the marriage.

Cost: £10

Priority same day service will cost an additional £10 fee.

Information you need to provide

You will need the following information:

  • For a man the forename(s) and surname
  • For a woman  the forename(s) and maiden name
  • Any other surnames for either party that may have been used prior to this marriage may be useful in locating the entry.
  • Date of the marriage
  • Place of the marriage. Include the name of building, the place of worship or name of the Register Office

We are open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, except the first Wednesday every month when we open at 10.30am.

When applying in person there may be a waiting time whilst the certificate is being produced.

Certificates ordered and collected on the same day will be subject to an additional £10 fee.

Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to Lancashire County Council.
