Gritters will be patrolling this evening and treating where necessary in Central and South Lancashire

Road surface temperatures could drop below zero this evening until around 09:00 the following morning. So our gritters will be out patrolling and monitoring the priority routes and treating them where necessary. Please take extra care on the roads if you are out driving.

Our priority routes only cover one third of the total highway network. Ice patches can develop even on treated surfaces, often caused by water run-off from fields or other sources. Ice is most likely on untreated surfaces – please adjust your driving to the conditions.
