All priority routes in East Lancashire to be gritted this afternoon & evening.

We have weather predictions of ice and road surface temperatures reaching below zero until around 11am on Thursday morning. We will apply salt to all priority routes.

Our priority routes only cover one third of the total highway network. Ice patches can develop even on treated surfaces, often caused by water run-off from fields or other sources. Ice is most likely on untreated surfaces – please adjust your driving to the conditions.
