Children's Social Care
This is part of Children's Services at Lancashire County Council and includes the team that has case responsibility for the child.
The vision of Children's Social Care:
- Vulnerable children and young people are safe from harm and build resilience.
- Children and young people achieve their full potential in education, learning and future employment.
- Children and young people enjoy heathy lifestyles and know how to help others.
- Children, young people and families have a voice in shaping the support they receive.
Children's Social Care teams
Children's Social Care is made up of three district teams:
- East Lancashire
- North Lancashire
- Central Lancashire
There are also specialised county-wide teams in Children Services:
- Fostering (including SCAYT+), Adoption, Residential and Lancashire Child and Youth Justice Service (formerly Youth Offending Team)
- Child Exploitation Team
- Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
- Inclusion service (formerly known as SEND)
As a Lancashire County Council foster carer you will benefit from being supervised by a Support to Permanence social worker and the children you care for will have their own social worker from Children's Social Care district teams.
As we are all working on the same systems and to the same vision you can expect that communication between the two parts of the service will be smooth and efficient.
