Children's welcome book

A welcome book is an essential part of welcoming a child into your home and something that you will complete during the assessment process prior to approval.

As a foster child, it can sometimes feel like the new family knows lots about you, but you know very little about them. 

A welcome book is intended to help a child transition to a new home and is helpful for children of all ages.

Before a placement, a welcome book will be sent to the child to read and review. They help the child learn more about the family they're going to be placed with and what their surroundings will look like. This will help ease a child's fears and help with their transition.
