These grids have been developed as a resource to support the spelling of the National Curriculum Common Exception Words for Y1* and Y2, and the National Curriculum Statutory Words for Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6. They can be used as a table-top resource to support accurate spelling, and also be provided for parents to support spelling practice at home. 

 

The grids are available as an electronic download and can be printed to the desired size (A4 is recommended). 

 

* the Common Exception Words in Y1 are in addition to 'tricky words' and words containing taught GPCs in a selected phonics programme, however many words will be duplicated.
