This order is for one pack of 10 numeral formation patter grids without stop.

These can be used to support the teaching of the numeral formation phrases linked to the Red Rose Mastery Maths Reception scheme. This in turn is related to the Red Rose Letters and Sounds Planning Programme. Each full colour, double sided flashcard includes the phrase used to teach the formation of that numeral.

It is recommended that when teaching letter and numeral formation, a phrase is used in order to embed the directionality. All adults who teach letter and numeral formation are encouraged to use the same approach as children learn effectively through repetition.

For the numeral formation phrases, we have created two versions: This version is where the formation phrase does not include the word 'stop'. Whilst children will still need to be taught to stop their pencil (or other tool), this has been omitted from the formation phrase to make it more succinct.
