Founded in 1946, Blackburn Artists' Society celebrated their seventy fifth anniversary in 2021. Since 2021, Blackburn Artists' Society have gone from strength to strength and has grown into an incredible example of an artistic society and have continued to nurture the creativity of their community. Blackburn Artists' accept all members from professional, to those with an interest in art, or even total beginners who want to find a new hobby or spend some time with a like-minded group of friends.

The society's emphasis is on fun and friendship, eating homemade cake and enjoying a brew while producing some interesting and sometimes incredibly good artwork. They have spent many years meeting at iconic venues across Lancashire including industrial venues, historic houses, small breweries and distilleries, vehicle museums and model villages, plant nurseries, Theatres, and historic churches. And have had the opportunity to visit some of Lancashire's most beautiful gardens, beaches and landscapes. Their 2024 exhibit at Queen Street Mill, Tales of Lancashire – Field and Furrow, is a celebration of all these wonderful places.

The talented members of the society have brought to life the landscapes, wildlife, history and people that make Lancashire great. From sketches, to paintings, this exhibit is an inspiring showcase of Lancashire's rural beauty and everything there is to love about our county.

Entrance to the exhibition is free and will run Wednesday to Saturday, 12pm – 4pm and will close on Saturday 2 November.
