Designated Safeguarding Lead Training
Who should attend?
Those who take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead within the setting.
Course content
In addition to the areas covered in the Introduction to Safeguarding training this course will provide a detailed overview of the role and responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead. It will support you in understanding:
- How to build a safer organisational culture within the workplace and safer recruitment
- The importance of effective multi agency working and the role of childcare practitioners
- How to refer to Children's Social Care and escalate concerns
- How to manage and monitor when an allegation is made
- How to ensure internet safety
- Developing and implementing safeguarding policies and procedures
Pre-course tasks: You will be expected to complete pre-course tasks to ensure that you are fully prepared for the face to face element of the course. This knowledge is critical to fully understand the safeguarding training and the procedures to follow if you are concerned about a child. Details of the tasks will be in your confirmation email.
