An Introduction to Safeguarding - 2023-24

THIS TRAINING HAS BEEN UPDATED AND THERE IS NO LONGER A LIVE SESSION ASSOCIATED WITH THIS COURSE.

This training contains pre-recorded webinars only, to allow you to access it at your convenience.  On successful completion the certificate will be valid for three years. You will receive the course booklet and handouts by email to use during the session and to refer to after. In addition, you will be provided with links to YouTube videos to view as part of the training course.

The training focuses on the general principles of safeguarding and what to do if you have concerns for the welfare of a child in your care including:

  • The definition and categories of abuse
  • Introduction to the Levels of Need and Early Help principles.
  • The importance of notifying your Designated Lead Practitioner of any concerns
  • A general overview of allegations
  • Information on the ongoing socio-economic impact of Covid-19

All delegates will be emailed the link to a knowledge check quiz. When this has been successfully completed and returned your certificate will be emailed to you

Who should attend?

Anyone in your setting who may have contact with children and needs an awareness of how to keep children safe.

How it works

Your confirmation email will contain all of the information you need to complete the course, including links to videos and a pre-recorded webinar, and supporting resources. Please note there is no longer a live session associated with this training course.

Session Dates and Times

You will be given options on the booking form of the 1st or 15th of the month to access the pre-recorded webinar and other video resources which will be available for two weeks from the date you choose.
