An Introduction to Safeguarding
Course content - online only
This training is a virtual pre-recorded session to allow you to access it at your convenience. On successful completion the certificate will be valid for two years. You will receive the course booklet and handouts by email to use during the session and to refer to after. In addition, you will be provided with links to YouTube videos to view as part of the training course.
The training focuses on the general principles of safeguarding and what to do if you have concerns for the welfare of a child in your care including:
- The meaning of the term safeguarding and the main categories of abuse and neglect
- How to identify signs of possible harm at the earliest opportunity
- Roles and responsibilities of early years practitioners and other professionals involved in safeguarding
- Responding effectively to allegations and the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer
All delegates will be emailed the link to a knowledge check quiz. When this has been successfully completed and returned your certificate will be emailed to you.
Who is the course for?
Anyone in your setting who may have contact with children and needs an awareness of how to keep children safe.
Session Dates and Times
Recorded webinar provided for this course. You will be given options on the booking form of the 1st or 15th of the month to access the pre-recorded webinar and resources which will be available for two weeks from the date you choose.
