A Child centred approach to planning for Out of School Club children

Who is this course for?

Manager, leaders and staff who want further knowledge and understanding in how to support children effectively by planning for purposeful experiences.

Course content

This training session has been developed to support you in thinking about how to best plan for the children who come to your out of school club, whether this be before and after school or in the school holidays.

We will cover different ways to find out what the children want whilst at the club, how you can meet their needs and the best way to use the child's voice in your setting, how to support children with their learning and development in a play-based setting and how you can offer opportunities that challenge children and encourage them to be independent little people.

We will consider the Childcare Register Requirements and the playwork principles and how your planning has an impact on children's time at your club.
