Who can attend?

As part of your membership, you have access to a workshop every half term delivered by members of the Early Years Quality Improvement Team.

Session dates and times

These relaxed and informative live virtual workshops take place via Teams from 1.30pm to 2.30pm and 6.30pm to 7.30pm on each of the following dates. All members of your team are very welcome to attend.

Session: Physical Development with Laura McNulty
Date: 24 September 2025

This workshop will help practitioners to understand and support children's gross and fine motor skills.

Session: Engaging Phase One Phonics with Jill Anderton
Date: 18 November 2025

This workshop will explore practical activities for playful practice.

Session: Risky play versus risk benefit with Clare Glover
Date: 21 January 2026

This workshop will consider the benefits of exposing children to risk!

Session: Home Grown Learning with Amy Sykes
Date: 17 March 2026

This workshop will explore projects to grow, harvest and create all year round.

Session: The Power of Positivity in Mathematics with Sarah Wallace
Date: 13 May 2026

This workshop will look at positivity and how to promote positive dispositions and attitudes for purposeful mathematics.

Session: Sensory Systems with Laura McNulty
Date: 1 July 2026

This workshop will help practitioners to support and understand the eight sensory systems.

You do not need to book a place, just add the date and time to your diary - all SSG/Childminder membership holders will be sent a link prior to each of the session dates.
