Who is this course for?

This course will support practitioners who lead a team, including managers and room supervisors.

This session is essential for those settings undertaking the Lancashire Quality Award – Leading a Successful team.

Course content

"Great leaders don’t tell you what to do, they show you how it's done."

This course will analyse the characteristics of high-performance teams and evaluate the effectiveness of our own team. It will provide suggestions for, setting goals high, ensuring progress and improvement and leading by example. We will look at how we can make change happen and look at strategies for developing practice. During the session we will unpick the grade descriptors for leadership and management and determine areas that might need prioritising for the future.

During the session we will explore:

  • Leadership Styles
  • The place of 'support and challenge'
  • The grade descriptors for leadership and management
  • Giving effective feedback
  • Implementing change
