Early Talk Boost
Who is this course for?
Early Talk Boost is a targeted intervention aimed at 3-4 year olds with delayed language development. This session is relevant to any practitioners who will be delivering the intervention programme in their setting.
This session is recommended for those settings undertaking the Lancashire Quality Award – Communication and Language.
Course content
Early Talk Boost aims to accelerate children’s progress in language and communication by an average of 6 months, after a nine week intervention. Participants will develop the skills and knowledge to understand the rationale behind Early Talk Boost, identify appropriate children, measure their progress and deliver the intervention successfully. Children who are selected to take part in the intervention will attend three sessions per week during circle/story time, each lasting 15-20 minutes delivered by an early years practitioner. The sessions include activities that cover the foundation skills in speech, language and communication that children need for learning and understanding new words, as well as having conversations.
Once you have booked onto the training course, you will receive the following materials:
- An Intervention Manual containing detailed group session plans and resources required
- Drawstring tool bag with resources for each session
- 10 x 8 Jake and Tizzy Story Books that have been specifically designed and written for the intervention
- Access to an Online Tracker Tool to measure and analyse progress which supports Early Pupil Premium
The above pack will be loaned to your setting for a period of 3 months from the date of the course.
